Setting Up Your Development Environment
To work with PHP, you'll need to set up a local server environment. One popular way to do this is by
using XAMPP, which includes Apache (web server), MySQL (database), and PHP. Here’s how to proceed:
1.Download XAMPP:
Visit the XAMPP website and download the installer for your operating system (Windows, macOS,
Linux).
2.Install XAMPP:
Follow the installation instructions provided on the website for your specific operating system.
Once installed, start the Apache server.
3.Verify Installation:
Open your web browser and go to http://localhost. If XAMPP is installed correctly, you should
see the XAMPP dashboard.
Running Your PHP Page
1.Start Apache Server:
Open XAMPP Control Panel and start the Apache server if it's not already running.
2.View Your PHP Page:
Open your web browser and go to http://localhost/php-page (or whatever folder name you chose).
You should see your PHP page displaying information about PHP, including its version and server
information.
